FAQs

+ How does Destinate Group charge for its services?

We don’t believe in the hourly rate model, so you won’t see any surprise invoices from us. Our transparent pricing model focuses on flat-rate, outcome-focused pricing wherever possible. (While some of our client partners request hourly rates for ongoing support, this is an exception and not the norm.) When we meet with you to discuss the project, we will provide a quote that’s based on your specific scope of work. This ensures you know the cost of the project delivery from the start.

+ How does Destinate Group engage its network of consultants on my projects?

After discussing the project requirements with you, we will confirm which specialties you require to best accomplish this project. We will propose a project team for your approval/feedback as part of the initial project brief. We want you to feel comfortable and confident with the expertise around your table.

+ Does Destinate group provide client references?

We are happy to provide client references to serious prospects once we have held initial discussions and have tentatively agreed on the scope and structure of an engagement.

+ Where are Destinate Group’s clients located?

Destinate Group works exclusively within Canada, with clients spanning Western Canada, Ontario, and other regions across the country. Our focus is on supporting Canadian communities, destinations, and organizations — from small towns to major hubs. By keeping our work rooted here at home, we’re able to offer deep regional insight, strong local partnerships, and a shared commitment to building a stronger, more resilient Canada.

+ Does Destinate Group work with destinations that have limited budgets?

If we can help you on a limited budget, we will. Having said that, we are committed to providing you with work that will achieve the highest results. We will not waste your limited resources if we cannot do the job right. Often, we work with clients to secure outside funding that can support the project and leverage the limited funding into a more robust program.

+ Destinate Group’s focus seems to be on planning. Does it provide implementation services?

Yes, we understand that sometimes a plan is already in motion and our clients need extra horsepower to accomplish their projects. Therefore, we also provide implementation support. However, where possible, we like to start with the plan so that we can get you started in the right direction and guide you through the journey.

+ Does Destinate Group work with for-profit tourism and travel operators?

Yes, private operators are the backbone of the visitor economy. Without operators, the industry cannot continue. Although much of our operator support is less visible, it is critical to the industry. We work with operators on business planning, revenue diversification, product development, visitor experience, promotional strategies, grant applications and more.

+ What makes Destinate's approach uniquely Canadian?

We don’t just work in Canada — we work with Canada. Destinate is proudly 100% Canadian-owned, and our team is made up entirely of consultants based across the country. We intentionally collaborate with local experts who understand the unique character, challenges, and opportunities of our communities. By working with Canadian talent, we help strengthen our industry from the inside out — and ensure every project is grounded in local knowledge and national pride.
